Our Care Managers speak to families all the time who ask the question “how they can know if their aging parents need some help at home?”. This article contains a downloadable GUIDE we built to help answer that question.
But first, let me ask a few questions to you…(or of course you can skip this next section and just scroll down to the button to just download the guide)…
Back to our questions:
- Have you ever gone home to visit a loved one or family member for a holiday or special occasion and you see signs all around the house that tell you that something may be wrong?
- Perhaps the house is normally spotless but today things are a bit out of place and maybe there’s a layer of dust on things that you have never seen before?
- Maybe the family member you are visiting is normally very ‘put together’ with their hair always done but today that is not the case?
- Maybe they normally ask to do go for a walk after dinner but you notice that today they are not moving as well as they normally do and you’re worried?
These are all signs that perhaps help is needed in the home.
But even though you see the signs it can be difficult to know how much help? And is it needed now or will it be needed in a few months or even years?
At CalaCare we have coached hundreds of families through these types of questions (have a look here to see some of what they have said about us). And through that process our RN Care Managers have put together an easy guide to help families assess the situations they see when they visit loved ones.
If any of the questions above apply to you, we would love for you to take a look at the guide and hopefully it helps you!
After reading this, if you are interested in having us help answer any questions you may have or even have one of our RN Care Managers visit in your home with you and your loved one, please contact us!
Thanks for reading and I hope the guide helps!
